FURL and Technorati Tags
As Bradley points out, we have added FURL to our Tags feature. More to come, I’m sure.
Update: Gen Kanai establishes some clear points to measure social bookmarking services by on his blog, and raises some interesting points in the comments on this blog.
In response to some of his questions, re: Delicious vs. FURL, FURL is an interesting service to many people, seemingly a very different community of users than delicious. This in and of itself is enough of a reason to include this feed alongside the Delicous feed by my reasoning. To a certain extent there can be no accounting for individual tastes. Although I personally gravitated towards Delicious, mostly for the reasons outlined in Gen’s earlier post.
- users
- transparency
- community
- extensibility
That being said we (Technorati) do not have a formal business relationship with any of the service providers we aggregate through our tag service at the moment. Most importantly, should they cease to provide value to the end users of our tags service, we will certainly cease aggregating thier feeds.
To all, I ask are there other services you can think of, that Technorati should be including in our Tags service? Drop me a note at richard AT technorati DOT com.
