New Job @ Metroblogging!

Apr 03 2006 Published by richard under tech

After an amazing two years of working on Technorati, I’ve decided to move on. Technorati has shone a bright light on just how powerful social media has become in the greater context of the web and our every day lives. And for my contribution I am extremely proud. I hope you will join me in wishing them all the success in the world.

And now, after ten plus years of working on some of the most exciting companies the web has known, CNET, Snap, BuyDirect, myplay, Napster and Technorati… I’m excited to announce my new partnership with Jason Defillippo and Sean Bonner, to work on Metroblogging!

I first learned about Metroblogging when Jason came to work with us at Technorati and his enthusiasm for the project infected my thinking from that point forward. Some time later Jason introduced me to Sean, and after that meeting I knew there was a huge opportunity brewing there.

And in case you don’t know what Metroblogging is, it’s the largest and fastest growing network of city-specific blogs on the Web. From San Francisco to Bangkok, Karachi to Toronto, Metblogs are a hyper-local look at what’s going on in the great cities of the world. Spread out across the globe, with 45 locales as of this writing.

I hope you can join us in our efforts to make Metroblogging a part of everyones life. Visit your home city, revisit a favorite city or the one you grew up in. And let us know your thoughts on what we are doing. Lastly, if you want to do business with Metroblogging, we are interested in discussing that too. richard at metroblogging dot com .
