Every once in a while a football player comes along who defines his position on the field in a way not previously understood. Sean Taylor is one of those kinds of players.

Sure I’m a Redskins fan, but comparatively speaking he is the most promising safety to play the game in years. As fun as he is to watch Harrison is a thug, Taylor reminds me more of Ronnie Lott. Maybe he too is headed for the Hall of Fame.

Also, on this day in NFL history another one of my favorite players, Art Monk became the NFL’s all-time leading receiver when he makes his 820th career reception in a 34-3 victory over the Broncos. One of these days the Hall will come to their senses and Art will take his place among the greats.
